Terra selected to prepare a Master Plan for the Arboretum at the University of Kentucky

Lexington, KY

In early 2014, the Executive Director of the Arboretum, Molly Davis, initiated the update to the master plan upon receipt of a lead gift for a new Education Center.  Since the 2002 master plan, the 100-acre Arboretum was officially named the site of the state botanical garden, presenting confusing branding messages.  The updated master plan will focus on visitor experience, wayfinding and garden design within a distinct garden zone which will be nestled within the mature tree collections, and seven re-created micro-ecosystems along the Walk Across Kentucky. In November 2014, Terra led the master plan charette with the stakeholders of the Arboretum, and we returned to present master plan options in January (and to enjoy the excitement of an undefeated Wildcats season). Go Cats!
