After a national search, Terra Design Studios was selected to prepare a master plan for the Seed Savers Exchange Heritage Farm in Decorah, Iowa. The Seed Savers Exchange (SSE) was founded in 1975 to maintain a genetically diverse food supply for the world by preserving heirloom seeds. SSE offers an alternative model to “big agriculture” on their 890-acre farm and nature preserve in northeastern Iowa.
Team Terra, including collaborators The Acorn Group and Alan Branhagen, will help guide SSE’s future development, as they expand their operations, develop new gardens, and continue to welcome the public to their amazing facility.
