Rob Thompson, PLA - Associate
Rob Thompson joined Terra in 2007 and is a registered Landscape Architecture with over fifteen years of professional design experience in public garden, family garden, campus, and urban designs. Mr. Thompson strives to connect nature and culture through thoughtfully designed social spaces and edible landscapes, and in particular aims to foster a true understanding of how easy it is to grow your own!
Having worked alongside Cindy for over fifteen years, Rob has extensive hands-on experience in master planning, design development coordination, construction document preparation and construction administration. He manages multi-disciplinary teams of architects, engineers, environmental scientists, water feature designers, and artists, and also leads the efforts to navigate pertinent regulatory agencies for our projects. Additionally, he leads Terra's unique brand of hand-rendered graphics, which bring a project to life and aid clients' fundraising efforts through birds-eye views of the plan renderings and perspective sketches.
Rob is a 2005 graduate of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA), and is a member of the PA-Del ASLA. Like many other transplants to Pittsburgh, Rob has developed a deep respect and affinity for the area and has volunteered his services to the Design Center of Pittsburgh as a consultant and to Tree Pittsburgh.
In his spare time, Rob can be found maintaining his own intensive urban garden, green roof, and chicken flock at his home - though his true passion is making sawdust, and occasionally fine furniture, in his woodshop.
